You can make all kinds of excuses about why you are out of shape, why you don’t look as good as you did a couple of years back, why you don’t …blah..blah..blah.
First you say, “I don’t have time.” You might say “How can I be healthy when I work 12 hours a day,” or “I travel all the time for work and I eat out all the time,” or “I have kids.” Try not getting on the couch after work and watching TV for hours for starters.
Stop making any more excuses, and get off your Fat Ass, and do something about it…Today!!! Even more…Right this second! Decide right now that you want to make a change, and get out and run, join the gym and actually go there, and stop eating at McDonald’s or takeout pizza.
I want to emphasize one key point that has helped me make drastic and long lasting changes in your life such as looking great and feeling great for once…. Start doing something! Anything will do as long as it’s a physical activity.
Go ride a bike, swim, run, use weights, cook healthy foods, have lots of sex. Whatever it takes. Don’t worry about being intricate, fancy, or perfect. I do have to repeat the obvious. The old cliché from Nike is still one of the most powerful… Just Do It!
Maybe you think working out is work or you just don’t like running. Just do something that is fun and makes you break a sweat. It might be playing soccer, because you like watching soccer and Beckham is your idol (not me) or you like playing golf. You can just take a long walk to unwind, which can make a huge difference in your life.
In future posts I will go into the specifics that have helped me live a healthy and happy life, and most of them are so simple and require less time than it takes you to watch Melrose Place. First, I want to emphasize to you to take action. What is holding your back from looking and feeling the way you want? Everyone is different, but it’s mostly laziness or lack of self-confidence. Decide right now that you want to take control of your life
Everyone is busy, but I know you all have some friend(s) that looks great although he/she is busy, works hard, is successful, and you are just so jealous. You can pretend that is me, and I will kill your jealousy by giving you my secrets. Look inside yourself, and focus on you, not someone you are jealous about. Every person is different. I can tell you everything that makes me tick, what motivates me, why I look good, and while this can help motivate you, the most important aspect that you need to do right now is just take action without thinking, then look inside of yourself, and see what motivates you, what your goals are, and what your beliefs are for fitness and health. Make sure this aligns with your goals of happiness. This is very important.
I have to say that I started being a chubby kid when I was growing up. I used to get teased a lot. People used to say that I was always going to be a fat. I was always jealous of all the skinny kids that seemed to eat whatever they wanted and still were skinny. I think my childhood did shape at least my first 30 years in that I was very motivated to prove everyone wrong. This motivation made me keep myself in check more times than not, but I still didn’t look and feel the way I wanted. I yo-yoed a little even though I never let myself get too overweight. I thought I was motivated, but it was not until I looked deep inside myself, knew what I really wanted, and visualized the way I wanted to look, the way I wanted to feel, and what I really wanted to make me happy, that I took the real leap into being who I am now.
I will go into some of my stories into more detail in following posts, but I have to say that staying motivated to look a certain way has been my biggest challenge until recently. In the last couple of years, I feel I have discovered some things about me that have helped me stay healthy, kept me looking great, and I have consistently felt great and have been happier than ever.
Before I keep rambling, my main point is to start taking action today! We’ll go further into details later. I will have videos of workouts and other detailed workout posts if you decide you need some direction or just want mindlessly follow some workouts to get you on the right track.
What I am going to do soon is start a 30-day challenge. I will have exactly what you need to do for 30 days to get on the right track. Right now, I wanted to challenge you to start warming up by taking some action today. Soon, you can start gaining some good habits by following the 30-day challenge, which will be coming very soon. What is your biggest challenge to getting and staying fit? I’d like everyone to share what your biggest challenges to getting and staying fit are.
Cliff notes/ Action list:
