45 Day Challenge – Eating out for every meal and in a different country

I love travel. I love working out. I love keeping tabs on my health and eating habits no matter where I am. I also love wine. How do I make all of these things work and still look great? Hmmm. Already a challenge to begin with… I am now up for the challenge of being in a country/continent far far away (Australia) from my home in Miami, and living in a hotel for 45+ days being bound to eat at restaurants for every meal.

Of course this is a little more extreme than most people have deal with if they travel for work or go on vacation. The lesson here is, through my adventure, I will go through this challenge and show you how I succeed in staying in shape. I will be staying healthy while eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner (and snacks) in restaurants (or cafes or markets without cooking) since I have no kitchen for 45+ days. Not to mention this will include 2 long plane rides (24+ hour journeys) and several short ones (within Australia).

I am posting some of my before pictures just to show you that I am being honest and will post new ones throughout.

My Background

First of all, I am armed with good health and exercise habits. I also have some friends with great information on their blogs and their advice on Twitter and Facebook. I will update everyone at least 2 times a week with some of my daily eating and exercise habits, plus some of the cool things I get to do in Australia when I am not working. Also, I have traveled extensively the last 3 years and thus learning how to eat well and exercise on the road. Let’s see how it works for 45+ days, which is my longest stretch yet, plus in a country that I have never been to without really having too much time to research much about Australia (last minute trip).

I hope I can help people by documenting my journey and sharing my results. Have you ever had such a trip or travel frequently that you find it hard to stay in shape? What are your thoughts?
